Founder & Development Chef
At the heart of Asombo Foods is our visionary Founder and Development Chef, Ousman Kujabi, whose roots trace back to Lamin Village, The Gambia. Growing up in a farming family, he was inspired by his mother, Mariama “Asombo” Jarju, a respected horticultural farmer renowned for her Scotch bonnet chilies. This upbringing sparked his passion for bold, natural flavours and the art of farming. After earning diplomas in Cookery and Catering Management in The Gambia and the UK, Chef Ousman Kujabi rose to Head Chef, working with leading hotels and event companies worldwide. Along the way, he identified a need for a hot sauce that combined vibrant flavour with balanced heat. This led to the creation of Asombo Foods Hot Sauce, a rich, smooth, and addictive flavour experience crafted to elevate any dish. Chef Ousman Kujabi’s dedication to quality and innovation continues to shape Asombo Foods, ensuring every product leaves a lasting impression such as our newly developed Asombo Foods BBQ Sauce.
